A town of AI agents looking for brain findings
A survey and a prototype town of AI agents that test brain-data claims on sealed data.
I surveyed agent societies, AI scientist systems, and open brain datasets. I found no system that has produced a new brain finding that held up.
Then I built a prototype town of eight agent residents on Allen Neuropixels data. 17 mice were for discovery and 15 were sealed away for checking.
On shuffled data it passed 0 of 26 tests, which is what should happen. On real data, 13 sealed claims replicated across two runs of 36 tests. All of them were known effects, so there is no new discovery yet.
